Dr. Tiffanny Duffing
Schedule a Free Consult

Dr. Tiffany Duffing is a licensed clinical psychologist and U.S. Army Veteran. She is one of the founders of GI Psychology and passionate about serving the community in her roles as clinician, healthcare administrator, and volunteer. Dr. Duffing’s treatment specializes in:

  • Evidence-based therapies, emphasizing goal-directed care
  • Children 9+, Adolescents, & Adults
  • Disorders of the gut-brain interaction (DGBI), chronic pain, anxiety, and stage of life role transitions

Dr. Duffing uses an integrative framework that pulls from her advanced training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Clinical Hypnosis. Each patient receives an individualized treatment approach that recognizes personal strengths and values while moving towards specific and measurable goals. Patients often share that they feel more empowered and capable of handling life distress after working with her. Dr. Duffing’s therapeutic style is goal-oriented, empathic, and empowering. As someone who previously struggled with IBS, Dr. Duffing brings a personal lens to helping her patients implement treatments that provide relief from GI distress.

Aside from being a clinician, Dr. Duffing also leads the GI Psychology team in increasing awareness and access for effective gut-brain therapies. She regularly trains providers, educates the community through events and podcasts, and creates strategic partnerships to bring gastro psychology services to communities throughout the nation. Dr. Duffing is an Approved Consultant and trainer with the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis (ASCH) as well as serves as volunteer Board Member for the association of Northern Virginia Clinical Psychologists (NVCP).
