Sarah Shires is a Licensed Professional Counselor.

She is known for her calm, warm, and direct approach, empowering patients to explore new habits, thoughts, and behaviors that enhance their sense of agency and overall well-being. Sarah finds her work in this area deeply rewarding and humbling, as it allows her to support patients in uncovering their strengths and living more fulfilling, purposeful lives. Her passion lies in helping individuals discover the powerful link between mental and physical health, guiding them toward holistic healing.

Sarah earned her Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling from Walden University and began her career focusing on trauma treatment, working with survivors of various experiences. Over time, she noticed the profound impact of the mind-body connection, which led her to specialize in health psychology. Her desire to deepen her understanding of wellness led her to become a certified wellness coach, enabling her to take a more holistic, patient-centered approach to therapy. She is committed to maximizing patient empowerment and creating an environment where patients feel capable of taking control of their wellness journey.

Sarah excels at connecting with her patients by tuning into their natural interests and passions. She skillfully integrates metaphors and analogies into her practice to help make complex psychological concepts more relatable and understandable. This personalized approach fosters creativity, allowing patients to engage with their therapy in meaningful ways and discover solutions that resonate with them.

Outside of her professional life, Sarah enjoys yoga, kayaking, and spending quality time with her family. She cherishes moments spent with her young adult children, whether they are discussing a favorite show or engaging in thoughtful conversations about current events.
