Schedule a Free Consult

Dr. Jo Eckler  is  a licensed Clinical Psychologist.

Dr. Eckler’s therapeutic approach is warm, calming, collaborative, and practical, with a focus on active engagement. They offer patients a validating and down-to-earth approach and strive to offer a therapeutic space where clients feel both supported and empowered to face their challenges. Dr. Eckler excels in helping clients navigate life changes, loss, and chronic health conditions. As a strong advocate for the transgender and non-binary community, they provide knowledgeable, validating support for LGBTQIA+ individuals, especially those facing challenges in finding compassionate, informed care.

Earning their Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Wright State University, Dr. Eckler dove into health psychology through the VA. After gaining experience in PTSD, complex chronic illnesses, anxiety, and sleep disorders on a multidisciplinary team, they transitioned to private practice and expanded their scope to include consulting for nursing homes and creating content for Employee Assistance Programs (EAP). Specializing in chronic illness and pain, life transitions, grief, and working with the LGBTQIA+ community, Dr. Eckler  has a deep understanding of the unique challenges faced by individuals with “unsolvable problems”.

Dr. Eckler possesses a unique gift for empathy, excelling at putting themselves in others’ shoes and truly understanding their perspectives. By learning each client’s “language,” they are able to frame concepts and ideas in ways that resonate deeply with them. This ability to connect on a personal level helps clients feel truly seen and heard, fostering a strong therapeutic bond. Whether navigating complex emotions or life challenges, they ensure that clients feel understood and supported in a way that makes sense to their individual experiences.

Outside of the therapeutic space, Dr. Eckler  enjoys traveling, exploring art museums, and expressing their creativity through art, writing, and crafts. They also love spending time outdoors, camping, and connecting with nature.
