Dr. Denise Powers is a licensed Clinical Psychologist.
Dr. Powers brings warmth, genuineness, and a down-to-earth approach to her work, helping patients explore how psychological care can improve quality of life—especially when navigating complex medical conditions. With extensive experience in multidisciplinary, team-based care, she tailors evidence-based interventions to support resilience, adjustment, and sustainable well-being, often using patients’ personal values as a guide. Recognizing that people are often most vulnerable when coping with illness, she works flexibly and creatively to tailor evidence-based interventions that support resilience, adjustment, and improved well-being.
Dr. Powers earned her doctorate in Counseling Psychology with a Health Psychology emphasis from the University of Georgia. She completed her postdoctoral fellowship at Cooper University Healthcare in New Jersey, where she gained specialized training across integrated primary care, critical care, chronic pain, GI conditions and other chronic illness management. Throughout her training and career, Dr. Powers has intentionally sought opportunities in multidisciplinary, team-based settings that emphasize whole-person care.
Dr. Powers is committed to providing thoughtful, sustainable care that balances clinical excellence with compassion. She values collaboration, innovation, and dedication to improving the lives of patients managing complex health conditions; specifically Disorders of the Gut Brain Interaction.
