Operations Manager
Steph Leather, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and a Master’s in Counseling with a focus on Trauma Studies, brings over a decade of invaluable experience from both the emergency medical and mental health fields to GI Psychology. She is currently pursuing a MBA in Healthcare Economics and Management. This diverse background equips her with a unique skill set that enriches patient care.
In her role as Operations Manager, Steph is the driving force behind ensuring swift and efficient connections between patients and providers, while spearheading initiatives aimed at enhancing patient care. Her dedication to optimizing the patient experience is evident in her collaborative efforts with the Leadership of GI Psychology.
Beyond her role at GI Psychology, Steph remains actively engaged in the emergency medical services (EMS) community in New Jersey and beyond. She shares her expertise by providing psychiatric training to EMTs and paramedics nationwide and actively participates in state-level committees focused on provider mental health and legislative advocacy.
In her spare time, Steph enjoys spending time with her dog and husband at the beach , reading with her book club, or needlepointing a new project.

Sarah Artuso
Community Relations Administrator
Sarah is dedicated to advancing the mission of GI Psychology through her role of increasing awareness of effective gut-brain therapies. With expertise in building strategic partnerships, managing outreach programs, and coordinating impactful initiatives, she works to expand the reach of empirically validated DGBI treatments and educate both patients and healthcare professionals about these therapies.
Sarah excels at structing systems and plans to streamline partnership referring patients and ensuring patient engagement. She leads the creation of promotional materials and campaigns to amplify the organization’s message and collaborates with clinicians to ensure high-quality care through training and development programs.
Passionate about the organization’s vision, Sarah is committed to fostering collaboration and building a team of skilled clinicians who are dedicated to providing effective care and improving patient outcomes.

Katya Belous
Patient Care Coordinator
Katya brings a unique blend of academic expertise and compassionate care to her role as a patient care coordinator at GI Psychology. With a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology, she not only possesses a strong foundation in psychological principles but also a deep understanding of clinical practices.
As the first point of contact for individuals seeking support, Katya serves as a reassuring guide, helping patients navigate their journey towards mental and gastrointestinal health. Her personal approach and practical understanding create a supportive environment where patients feel heard and valued.
Katya’s commitment to compassionate care and professionalism ensures that each patient receives the attention and support they need to thrive. She takes pride in empowering individuals on their path to wellness, making a meaningful difference in their lives.
Outside of her professional responsibilities, Katya finds joy in activities that nourish both her mind and body. Whether she’s delving into a good book or engaging in a game of pickleball, she values the importance of balance and self-care.

Jay Culbreth
Clinical Support Coordinator
Jay Culbreth creates a genuinely warm and welcoming space for new patients to explore the opportunity to receive care through GI Psychology. With a degree in Psychology from Furman University and extensive experience as a Clinical Research Coordinator, Jay blends personal passion with professional expertise to help patients feel informed, supported, and empowered in making decisions about their care.
They are deeply committed to walking alongside patients throughout their treatment journey—offering guidance, answering questions, and fostering a sense of ease every step of the way. Jay takes pride in helping individuals understand the evidence-based treatments offered at GI Psychology and how these approaches can create meaningful, lasting change in their lives.
In addition to direct patient support, Jay is passionate about continuously improving internal processes to enhance the overall patient experience. Their adaptability and dedication to refining systems ensure that care remains responsive, efficient, and patient-centered.
When not advancing the GI Psychology mission, Jay can be found spending time their two cats, taking nature walks, and playing cozy video games.

Adanna Lassiter
Operations Assistant
Adanna brings strong organizational skills and a forward-thinking mindset to her role at GI Psychology, where she supports the practice’s growth, enhances internal operations, and ensures a smooth experience for both staff and patients. With a solid background in care coordination and operations support, she is known for anticipating needs, streamlining processes, and building systems that allow clinicians to focus on delivering exceptional care.
Driven by a deep passion for supporting individuals with GI and chronic health conditions, Adanna is dedicated to improving access to care by identifying inefficiencies and refining workflows. Her work spans key areas such as human resources, onboarding, process improvement, and the implementation of new initiatives—all aimed at enhancing patient outcomes and ensuring smooth operations. She approaches each task with thoughtfulness, consistency, and a strong sense of purpose.

Sarah Simpson
Clinical Support Assistant
Sarah Simpson brings a unique, patient-centered approach to GI Psychology. A recent graduate of Northern Michigan University with a Bachelor of Science in Preclinical Psychology and a minor in German, Sarah has intentionally shaped her early career to gain meaningful, hands-on experience in patient care.
Her roles as an Undergraduate Research Assistant in a Neuropsychopharmacology Lab and as a Certified Nurse’s Assistant allowed her to refine her attention to detail and deepen her commitment to delivering personalized, intentional care to each patient she supports.
Sarah’s passion for improving lives through evidence-based psychological care aligns seamlessly with GI Psychology’s mission. She firmly believes that effective psychology should blend scientific rigor with deep compassion.
Outside of the clinic, Sarah enjoys traveling the world—often finding opportunities to use her German language skills—and spending cozy time at home with her beloved cats.
